Erika Winters
DESIGNER
Erika Winters, founder and principal of Erika Winters Design, is a Mexican designer creating multi-faceted, experiential residential, hospitality and commercial environments as well as of collections of lifestyle product designs. Throughout her career, she has shown the creation of lifestyle concepts expressly signed by her extensive work, Winters has a particular stamp which she has managed to capture internationally.
Winters explores and breaks the rules through materials, colors and shapes. Always pushing the boundaries with exquisite sensitivity, intuitively achieves interesting approaches to styles between the contemporary, the vintage and the ancient. Erika strongly believes in family attachments, living together, the history of the world and how it unites us in our modern life. Winters is passionate and respects the architecture and how it is essential to overcome the housing limits.
Erika Winters received her academic training in interior and architectural design in Mexico City. She has teach Architecture Design in Mexico City as well as several lectures and workshops. Erika has called the media’s attention and she has received publications such as AD Architectural Digest, Vogue, GloCal, Chic Haus, Habitat, Comex Trends and Design Mexico among others.
LUIS HERRERA
ARCHITECT
Luis Herrera has a solid academic background and a broad 20+ year professional experience which have given him an affinity for creating an exceptional quality of design and close client relationships. His career represents a development of broad aesthetics, social, and cultural concerns within a wide range of residential, retail, commercial, and institutional projects from design conception through construction administration. His work has been exhibited and published internationally. As a principal, he is involved in every aspect of the firm’s management from design through completion of a project. Professionally, Mr. Herrera has worked at architectural offices in Houston, New Jersey, New York, and Los Angeles.
Mr. Herrera is the co-founder of L Design + Build, Inc an architecture and construction company based in Mexico City. The firm completed two prestigious five-star hotels the Holiday Inn and Aoyama Hotel in Tuxpan, Veracruz, an apartment complex of 76 units, another of 24 units in Mexico City and 2 private residences in Bosques de Las Lomas under his supervision.
He was a project architect at SPF Architects on various projects such as The Getty Villa Museum Renovation project in Malibu, CA. He was also involved with the Los Angeles Cathedral Project managing the construction of the concrete walls along side Morley Construction.
Upon graduating from SCI-arc, Mr. Herrera was awarded The AIA Henry Adams Gold Medal for Excellence in Architecture and The New Jersey State Champion Cup in 1987 for the VICA competition in Architectural Design and Drafting. He has also taught design studio at SCI-Arc and Woodbury University. He has been a guest critic at several architectural schools, including,Anahuac in Mexico, Cal-Poly Pomona, Cal-Poly San Luis Obispo, Columbia University, Pratt Institute and Rice University.
Luis Herrera received her academic training Bachelor of Architecture, SCI-Arc 1996, Vico Morcote, Switzerland Summer 1995, Fine Arts Major, Pratt Institute 1989-1992, Assoc. in Civil Engineering, Ocean County College 1989.
