MEXICO CITY

2013

Rosaleda Decor was created for a young couple with contemporary tastes who love traveling and experiencing Latino art and traditions. Taking our cue from the clients’ fondness for tradition, we displayed artworks on brightly colored walls in keeping with the couple’s tastes and needs as a family. For a cohesive design, bands of gold-vein Carrara marble make a visual connection between tables and ceilings in the double-height living and dining rooms. The light fixtures hanging from these panels appear to float in mid-air. Exotic woods, leather armchairs with contemporary touches, and a zesty color scheme creates different ambiences throughout the home, in a design that also integrates the pre-existing travertine marble floor tiles. The paintings—mainly by Latin American artists—have been carefully arranged to create a gallery-type feel, and they can be appreciated from different angles. In the garden, the focus on details such as the deck’s waterwall reflects how much the couple enjoys spending time with family and friends.  Much of the furniture in the sitting room, dining room, TV lounge, and the garden are bespoke creations by Erika Winters Design.
